ComposiMold for wax castings? Looks good thanks to a great suggestion!

I wish I would have thought of this, but I didn't. This idea came through a question posed by one of our viewers. Thank you!

By cooling the ComposiMold molds in the freezer it is possible to pour in hot waxes without melting the ComposiMold. For the eagle relief sculpture shown below, an encaustic paint (beeswax and damar resin) with a melting point of around 160 to 170 F was poured into the cold ComposiMold mold and then placed in the refrigerator to cool off the wax. I was very pleasantly surprised. All the detail was captured.

The other suggestion was to paint the wax on to the sides of the ComposiMold mold.
